Specialised New Build Snagging Services: Ensuring no short cuts have been made with your New Build.

We use specialist equipment and processes to enable us to check the cavity wall insulation. We only do this on traditionally built houses (not apartments, timber-framed houses, rendered or clad) as it involves drilling a 10mm hole through the outer wall mortar joint (made good afterwards) and checking the cavity in several areas around the house using a borescope camera.

We provide a comprehensive snapshot of the area of your new build that includes: Risk of flooding, mining, landfill, and subsidence. Noise levels, air quality, and crime rates. Schools within 10 miles. Broadband availability and mobile phone coverage. Average house prices, affordability ratios, and ongoing local development activity.

We are the only new build snagging company that is qualified in building thermography (although many try to offer the service). Due to the conditions required to do it properly, we only carry out heat loss checks between November – March. We can either do it as a stand-alone inspection or alongside a snagging survey for a discounted rate.

Our surveyor will revisit the property to check that the snags raised in the Snagging Survey have been completed  to a satisfactory standard. The timeframe will vary of this re-inspection at your discretion, but typically we recommend getting us back around 9 months in, to also allow for the settlement process.

As our surveyors are experts in identifying poor workmanship, we often carry out surveys on houses that have been refurbished by builders, not just those built from scratch by large-volume developers. In this survey, we will raise snags based on current standards set by the NHBC and Building Regulations.
