On internal snagging checks we not only use levels to check flooring and ceilings, but also walls being plumb. The importance of this may not seem important (or even noticeable by the eye) at first, but in the future, it may raise its head when carrying out decoration such as wallpapering a feature wall. The 2 photos here give a good example of a customer who discovered too late (after wallpapering) that their feature bedroom wall wasn’t plumb.
On a new build snagging inspection we also check ceiling levels where it is common for joists to create a visible dip and cause similar issues. To help identify, we typically label areas, not level/plumb with a different colour dot sticker to distinguish it from simple paint issues.
